Women and Economy: 2003-2005 Project

RECALL OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSAL FOR 2003-2005

1 - Deepen themes discussed during the activities of the workshop in 2000/2001 (in particular the follow up to the proposals 3 and 5 of the Notebook) and contribute actively to the the transverse workshops notably those on the indicators of wealth and on the vision of an integrated socio-economy of solidarity.

(a) the indicators of wealth and the work from a feminist point of view,
(b) the initiatives of women in solidary economy : expertises used and demonstrated. and impacts on the social, cultural, économical, natural, environment, etc.

2 - Establish relations with social movements and networks mobilized on the theme «women and economy» (follow-up to the proposition 4 of the Notebook). Contacts are already established with the international committe of the World March of Women and with the Red of mujeres transformando the economia of South America. During the year 2003, contacts are undertaken with networks of the English Canada and the Asia-Pacific, of different countries of Europe and Africa.

3 - Diffuse the reflections and the proposals of the Workshop in the context of the continental and international processes of the World Social Forum and on other tribunes or in other process rassembling and mobilizing in relation with the search of socioeconomic alternatives.

4 - Widen the basis of collaborators of the Workshop on a continental basis (in America, in Asia, in Africa, in Europe). Solicit the networks or organizations that pursue theoretical or practical works on questions related to the theme «women and economy». Contribute to activities of reflexions encouraging the emergence of plural economic alternatives including a feminist/gender perspective and based on living dynamics.
