ACTIVITIES
The foreseen activities are the following
:
A - Workshop preceding the European Social
Forum (ESF, Paris-Saint-Denis, November 2003)
on the theme «women and solidary economy
: habilities and expertise used and developed
by the women in their solidary economic practices
and the repercussions of these practices in
the local environment. An effort will be made
to treat these two themes while taking in
consideration the particularities of the rural
and urban surroundings. This workshop will
be the opportunity to develop our contribution
in the workshops on the indicators and the
vision of an integrated bound socio-economy.
This workshop will be followed of an involvement
in the ESF in the context of the activities
of the Socio-Economy of Solidarity Workgroup.
B - Workshop preceding the World Social Forum
(WSF in Mumbaï, January 2004). This activity
regrouping mainly Asian participants will
allow us to seize the specific stakes of the
solidary practices in this part of the world
and to confront the proposals and works of
the Workshop to these contexts, very different
from those of America and Europe. This workshop
will be followed by an involvement in the
WSF in the context of the activities of the
Socio-Economy of Solidarity Workgroup.
The committee of piloting of the Workshop
wishes to organize this workshop in collaboration
with the working committee on economic alternatives
of the World March of Women and with women’s
movements and Asian networks.
C - Holding an electronic forum on the theme
of the indicators of wealth and work of from
a feminist point of view and Involvement in
the transverse workshop on the indicators
of wealth.
An intensive electronic forum will be held
during the winter/spring 2004. The launching
of the forum will be based on the results
of the workshop of Paris Saint-Denis and on
questions raised in the workshop on indicators.
The exchanges will deepen our feminist analysis
of «indicators» and contribute
to the workshop on indicators of wealth.
D - Involvement of the Workshop in the activities
of Socio-economy of Solidarity Workgroup in
the context of the World Social Forum 2005
(WSF in Porto Alegre, January 2005). It should
permit the diffusion and the discussion of
the the preliminary report of the Workshop,
whose main objective is to document, in order
to make them visible, the multiple aspects
of the contribution of women to the solidary
economy and their repercussions on their family,
their community and the society.
This involvement must be coordinated with
all the interventions on the solidary economy
in order to assure the integration of the
specific issues of women to the construction
of economic alternatives. It seems to us that
it will be the opportunity to note the capacity
of the solidarity economy networks and of
the Socio-economy of Solidarity Workgroup
to really take into account the vision and
the practices of women in the development
of the alternatives.
A final report of the works of the Workshop
will be prepared and will be distributed following
the FSM 2005.
E - Involvement in collaboration with networks
engaged in the dynamic of "Globalization
of solidarity" (in Dakar to Senegal,
November 2005). The objective of this involvement
is to make visible the diversity of the practices
of the women and the plural dynamics on the
national territories and to strengthen collaboration
from Africa.
Let's recall that Dakar is a specific meeting
on «solidary economy». The issues
related to «women and economy»
must have a more significative space. The
meeting should be organized with the Mouvement
pour l’économie solidaire (MES,
France) and other networks promoting solidary
economy. The final report of the Workshop
will be presented and distriibuted.
FINALLY...
The follow up of our work and the preparation
of the workshops will take support on electronic
exchanges between, on the one hand, the main
organizers and, on the other hand, between
participants on the list of the Workshop.
THESE PEOPLE ARE YOURSELVES! Don't hesitate
to let us know of inspiring initiatives and
of events that happen at home. It is alltogether
that we are going to make visible the transforming
practices of the women.
A PARTICULAR INVITATION IS MADE TO THOSE INTERESTED
TO COLLABORATE TO OUR REFLEXIONS ON THE IDENTIFIED
THEMES (WOMEN’S INITIATIVES IN SOLIDARY
ECONOMY AND INDICATORS OF WEALTH AND WORK
FROM A FEMINIST POINT OF VIEW) AND IN THE
REGIONS OF THE WORLD WHERE WE DON'T HAVE ANY
CONTRIBUTIONS YET.
We wait for news from all of you. Soon you
will also receive news on our work plan. Best
wishes.
